Sheeps Head for sale, Djemaa el Fna, Marrakesh

We managed to snag a hotel room overlooking the Djemaa el Fna, which is the heart and soul of Marrakesh. All kinds of things were going on there - musicians, story tellers, medicine men. At the night market were row upon row of food stalls, this one featuring sheeps head. I wasn't hungry at the time...

Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, Draa Valley

There are a string of kasbah (fortresses) strung along the Draa Valley, running from Marrakesh eventually out to Timbuktu. There are stops all along the way, the distance between how long a camel can travel in a day. The people in this area live quite traditionally. Ait Benhaddou is one of the most photogenic kasbah in the area.

Dan on camel, south of Zagora

Dan was my travel partner in Morocco. Our meeting place was the lobby of a hotel in Casablanca. Here he is mounted on a camel in a typical Lawrence of Arabia shot.
